For the past several years Olivia has been working full time in a health department outpatient clinical psychology service, and is excited to join the Jeffery&Ree practice to expand her area of work into the private sector. She brings with her a warm and professional manner and a strong desire to work hard with her clients to help them achieve their goals.
Olivia completed her training at the University of Western Australia, completing her doctoral research in the area of eating disorders. She has experience working with adults and adolescents (in both individual and group treatment settings) presenting with a range of issues including stress, low mood, anxiety, overthinking, and eating disorders. Olivia is also passionate about working with clients to overcome difficulties with sleep, whether in the context of straightforward insomnia or more complicated sleep difficulties.
Olivia is dedicated to delivering effective, evidence-based therapies that have been well-researched, and she is conscious of balancing treatment protocols with the individual needs of each client she sees. She works primarily from a cognitive behavioural framework and has also received training in dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and family based therapy for anorexia nervosa. Olivia is actively involved in research in the field of psychology in order to work towards improving treatment outcomes for her clients. Olivia has worked on several papers that have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals and keeps up to date with the latest treatment research.
Olivia also serves the profession of psychology and is a member of several professional associations and committees. She has been invited to convene the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) conference in Perth in 2021.
