As well as English, Yashi also speaks fluent Tamil.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults presenting with a wide range of presentations, including:
- Anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety/worry, panic, OCD, social anxiety, phobias)
- Depression
- Stress related difficulties
- Adjustment difficulties after life changes and transitions
- Relationship difficulties
- Body image concerns
- Trauma-related problems
- School refusal
- Emotional and behavioural concerns in children
I place great importance in creating a warm and safe space, where I will aim to work closely with you in a collaborative, compassionate, non-judgemental and empathetic manner. I use evidence-based treatment approaches that are individually tailored to meet your needs and goals. These mainly include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
I completed a Master of Applied psychology in Clinical Psychology at Murdoch University, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Psychology in Malaysia. I have worked across private practice, inpatient psychiatry, home visiting and rural settings.
I speak fluent Tamil and can offer consultations in Tamil as well as English.
