I have worked to develop expertise in providing evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions for children, adolescents and adults presenting with a range of mental health difficulties.
My goal is to create a warm and safe therapeutic space, where I utilise a collaborative approach placing great importance in working closely with clients in a compassionate, non-judgmental and empathetic manner.
I work closely and collaboratively with children and adults who present with:
- mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder)
- anxiety disorders (worry/generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, phobias)
- stress
- psychotic symptoms (e.g., hearing voices)
- personality vulnerabilities
- eating disorders
- adjustment issues after life changes and transitions
- trauma-related problems
- substance use disorders
Additionally, in children I have experience working with:
- developmental disabilities
- school refusal and challenging behaviours
I work closely with both the child and their family in addressing these issues with the overarching aim of promoting the emotional well-being of the child. I am also passionate about and enjoy administering various psychometric and neuropsychological assessments.
I draw on a range of evidence-based treatment approaches that are individually tailored to meet the needs of each client. These include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, behavioural-based parent training, and attachment-focused family interventions.
