I primarily focus on a here and now approach helping you uncover the barriers to your ideal life and coming up with ways you can consistently respond more effectively to what troubles you. I believe it is important to have clear understanding of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that drive certain issues so that you are less likely to fall into these same traps going forward. This will often involve gaining a further understanding of self through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy. I am also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and use facets of these throughout my practice. I completed my Honours in psychology (Bachelor of Arts) at University of Western Australia in 2009 and gained a Masters in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University in 2011. I am fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
I have worked in both the public mental health sector and private clinic settings and have a wealth of experience in treating depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and psychosis in adolescent and adult populations. I have a particular interest in addressing various forms of anxiety (generalised, OCD, panic, phobias) and focus on conducting a holistic assessment to inform relevant therapeutic interventions. Treating Insomnia and related sleep issues has also become a particular interest since joining the Jeffery & Ree / SleepMatters team in 2013.
